Summer has long passed and, while it is starting to get colder and darker earlier in much of the northern hemisphere, we’re absolutely blessed here in Calafell, Spain with a much milder winter comparatively. Hey, we’re still in t-shirts and jeans some days!
While the tourist crowds have thinned and we’re enjoying more space and tranqulity, the thing we love most about the the winter, is of course the holiday season! It’s just around the corner, and there’s no better place to experience a unique Christamas experience!
Calafell and nearby Stiges and Barcelona are great this time of the year as there are many things to do for digital nomads. Here we’ll share some ideas to get amongst the festivities.
Santa Llucia, Christmas Market – 27 November to 23 December
Christmas at Coasis – 25 December
The festive season is always better when spent with family or friends, but nomadic life sometimes prevents this. Not this year though – we’d love you to join our Coasis family for a traditional Catalan Christmas Lunch in Calafell.
Together with colivers and the family of our co-founders, we will celebrate the holiday in a traditional Catalan manner with food drinks and of course a visit from the caga tió!
New Years at Coasis – 31 December
We also invite you to bring in the New Year with our Coasis Family. We welcome you to a New Years eve dinner at Coasis, followed by the changing of the year party at plaça Catalunya in Calafell with the rest of the town!
All you need to do is bring your own cava and grapes (you need 12 of them, as tradition says) to help celebrate.
3 Kings Day – 5 January 2020
While you’re visiting Barcelona or Calafell we highly recommend you check out one of the ‘3 Kings Day’ parades. This is one of the biggest holidays and Spain, and the parades are a great event to go with new-found friends. The Barcelona parade has amazing floats, choreography and music and can be enjoyed by everyone! The one in Calafell is more ‘handmade’, and has an authentic small town charm!
